Fans at the Holkar Cricket Stadium in Indore witnessed a thrilling display of cricketing prowess during the second ODI of the three-game series between India and Australia. While the venue was initially set on fire by the Indian batting line-up, it was the home team’s fiery pacer Prasidh Krishna who stole the limelight during the second innings by striking early with the ball.

A double blow from Prasidh Krishna

Krishna showcased a brilliant bowling performance in his opening over, removing Aussie batter Matthew Short and stand-in skipper Steve Smith on consecutive deliveries. The Karnataka-born’s magical spell left the crowd in sheer awe.

Matthew Short’s dismissal

On the second ball of his spell, Prasidh bowled a length ball that swung away outside off. Short threw his bat at it, attempting to flay it over the off-side but unfortunately he could only manage to get a fat outside edge, sending the ball hurtling towards Ravichandran Ashwin at the third man, who took a brilliant running catch to his left without losing the balance.

With the Holkar Cricket Stadium buzzing with excitement, Krishna had something truly special in store for the very next delivery as he produced an angled outside back-of-a-length delivery to newly arrived Smith. The Australian skipper gave in to temptation and chased the ball by wafting his bat hard at it. As a result, the ball found a thick outside edge of the willow and soared towards the first slip, where Shubman Gill reverse-cupped the catch above his head, sending the Indian fans into delirium.
