Shreyas Iyer recently made a comeback in the international arena after being sidelined from action for a long time due to a back injury. The batter marked his return to competitive cricket in India’s opening match against Pakistan in the Asia Cup 2023, where he looked in good touch but failed to convert the start into a big score and was dismissed for 14 runs. Although Iyer was also part of the Indian line-up against Nepal, he didn’t get the chance to bat in the contest.

However, more than Iyer’s return to the team after injury, the talks that are going around are about one of his undershirt advertisements, which has gone viral on the internet.

The viral advertisement depicts a scenario where Shreyas is approached by a female fan seeking his autograph. At first, he graciously agrees, offering her a friendly high-five. However, the situation takes a bizarre turn when the girl realizes she doesn’t have a notebook to collect his signature.

In a cringe-inducing moment, she starts removing her top wear, seemingly intent on using it as a makeshift autograph canvas. Shreyas Iyer, realizing the awkwardness of the situation, intervenes and takes off his own hoodie to provide his autograph, all while wearing a polite smile.

As soon as the clip of the commercial went viral on the internet, there were many who took to social media and shared their humorous takes on the scenario, poking fun at Iyer. On the other hand, some even voiced their concerns over the advertisement’s portrayal of the woman involved. They argued that it objectified her and was a display of poor taste.
