India’s leg-spinner, Yuzvendra Chahal, has kicked off his County Championship 2023 stint with Kent in style, securing three wickets against Nottinghamshire in a Division One fixture.

Chahal’s sensational debut for Kent

After being omitted from the squad for both the Asia Cup 2023 and the ODI World Cup 2023, the 33-year-old made a resounding return with a stellar performance, registering impressive figures of 29-10-63-3. Chahal showcased his skills by dismissing Nottinghamshire’s top-order batters, including Matthew Montgomery, Lyndon James and Calvin Harrison, playing a pivotal role in restricting them to 219/8 at the end of Day 2 in response to Kent’s commanding 446.

A significant moment in the match was Chahal’s initial dismissal of  James. However, the ball spun sharply, eluding James’ bat and disturbing his off-stump. This exquisite delivery showcased Chahal’s exceptional skills with the ball.
