Starting the day with a medal count of 95, India secured an additional five medals, with four coming from archery and one from kabaddi, thus crossing the 100-medal mark.

It is worth noting that this marks India’s most successful performance at the Asian Games, surpassing their previous record set in the 2018 edition in Jakarta by a substantial margin. During that year, India had managed to secure 70 medals.

In an extraordinary achievement, the Indian Cricket team, captained by Ruturaj Gaikwad, emerged victorious against Afghanistan in the finals of the Asian Games Men’s T20I 2023.

Afghanistan was at a score of 112/5 after 18.2 overs when rain interrupted play. The match was ultimately abandoned after a lengthy delay, leading to India being declared the champions. This triumph secured yet another highly coveted Gold Medal for the nation.

Bangladesh clinches bronze by defeating Pakistan

Earlier in the day, Bangladesh  accomplished a significant achievement by securing the prestigious Bronze medal in the rain-affected 3rd place play-off match against Pakistan. In an intense battle, the Bangla Tigers emerged triumphant, winning the contest by four wickets in a thrilling encounter.
