The 13th edition of the ICC Men’s ODI World Cup 2023 is well underway in India, and cricket enthusiasts from around the globe are being treated to a thrilling display of cricketing excellence. The highly anticipated tournament commenced on October 5 with a high-voltage clash between defending champions England and the formidable New Zealand team, who were the runners-up in the 2019 edition of the tournament.

In the opening match, the Blackcaps, as New Zealand is affectionately known, put on a stunning performance as they dominated the English side, chasing down a challenging target of 283 runs with remarkable ease. The nine-wicket victory set the tone for what promises to be an exhilarating competition, leaving fans eagerly awaiting the upcoming matches.

One of the highlights leading up to the World Cup was the release of the official tournament anthem, ‘Dil Jashn Bole,’ by the International Cricket Council (ICC). This celebratory song captured the hearts of cricket fans worldwide, and its vibrant and energetic music has struck a chord with audiences.

Female Version of Ranveer Singh

Adding star power to the anthem was none other than Bollywood sensation Ranveer Singh, who took the lead role in the music video. Known for his charisma and boundless energy, Ranveer brought his signature enthusiasm to the anthem, elevating the spirits of fans everywhere.

What makes the anthem even more special is the presence of choreographer Dhanashree Verma, who shared screen space with Ranveer. Dhanashree, the wife of Indian leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal, has made a name for herself in the world of dance and entertainment. She revealed in a recent interview that she has often been referred to as the ‘female version of Ranveer Singh’ due to her exuberant and infectious energy.

“Ever since I stepped into the field of dance and my videos went viral, I was labelled as the female version of Ranveer Singh. All my videos would get these comments and I am sure he has seen it too. People observed that I exude the same energy as Ranveer. I always wanted to dance with him and the official anthem for the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 (titled Dil Jashn Bole) made it possible. We do team up with a lot of actors for authentic dance-based songs and they all bring their A game but that energy factor you only see in this man. Of course, this was not a duet, and it was for the purpose of the ICC WC anthem, but I remember when we were doing that hook step together, he said, “Arre Dhana, bohot energy hai,” Dhanashree was quoted as saying to TOI.

When asked about the netizens mixed reactions to the anthem, she opined: “The anthem is a celebratory song and it’s fun. The way I have lived my life, from being a dentist to becoming a dancer, actor, and singer, I have learnt one thing – you cannot please everyone. If there are people who don’t like the anthem, there are those who like it, so you must face the criticism gracefully and keep creating. You can’t drain your energy mulling over the naysayers because woh gaana ban chuka hai, release ho chuka hai. Just shift your energy to people who are loving it.”
