In a high-scoring encounter at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium during the ICC Men’s World Cup Warm-Up Matches 2023, Afghanistan emerged victorious against Sri Lanka by 6 wickets, with the DLS method coming into play due to rain interruptions.

Sri Lanka Innings:

Sri Lanka won the toss and elected to bat, posting a competitive total of 294/10 in 46.2 overs. Kusal Mendis was the star performer for Sri Lanka, smashing an impressive 158 runs off just 87 deliveries, including 19 fours and 9 sixes. He received valuable support from Sadeera Samarawickrama (39 runs) and Pathum Nissanka (30 runs).

Sri Lanka’s bowlers faced a tough challenge, with only Kasun Rajitha and Lahiru Kumara picking up a wicket each.
