The standout performance came from Katie Mack, who played a sensational knock of 86 runs off 50 balls, featuring an impressive 14 boundaries. Laura Wolvaardt contributed significantly with 47 runs off 36 deliveries, including six fours. Tahlia McGrath added to the scoreboard with 34 runs off 19 balls, which included four boundaries and a six. It was a well-rounded effort with the bat by the Adelaide Strikers Women.
Bowlers shine as Melbourne Stars gets all-out for the lowest total
In response, Melbourne Stars Women had a challenging task ahead as they struggled to chase down the target set by their opponents. Their innings ended at a mere 29 runs for the loss of all 10 wickets in just 9.3 overs. It was the lowest total by a team in the history of WBBL.
Such was the poor batting from Stars that their highest scorer was Sophia Dunkley with 9 runs off 10 balls. The bowlers from Adelaide Strikers Women made a significant impact on the game. Anesu Mushangwe bowled impressively, claiming 2 wickets for just 12 runs in her 2 overs. Megan Schutt proved to be a force to be reckoned with, taking 3 wickets for a mere 3 runs in her 3 overs. Amanda Wellington also excelled with the ball, securing 3 wickets while conceding only 4 runs in her 2 overs. Tahlia McGrath chipped in with 2 wickets for 2 runs in her 1.3 overs.
