Cricket, often considered a religion in India, has a rich history and a passionate following that’s hard to match. It’s no wonder Indian cricket stadiums are held in high regard by players and fans alike. Pakistan‘s cricket captain, Babar Azam, recently added his voice to the chorus of admiration for the iconic cricket venues of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023.

Babar, one of the most talented and promising young batters of modern-day cricket, found himself in awe of Indian cricket stadiums. The right-handed batter’s visit to Indian cricket stadiums holds particular significance, as it marks his first-ever cricketing experience in India, a noteworthy occurrence given the prolonged absence of bilateral series between the bitter rivals India and Pakistan.

Babar’s cheerful words for Indian stadiums

Babar conveyed his enthusiasm regarding the exceptional opportunity to play in India, emphasizing the unique atmosphere and individuality of each Indian stadium. The Lahore-born cricketer went on to express his absolute enjoyment, regardless of the venue where he found himself during the ongoing grand ICC event.

“We are here for the first time and we do not get these opportunities a lot. Every stadium in India has a different vibe and a different feel. So, trying to enjoy that wherever we go,” Babar Azam said in a Star Sports video.

Pakistan’s satisfactory campaign so far

Pakistan’s journey in the ODI World Cup 2023 has been marked by a mix of victories and challenges. They initiated their campaign with a resounding 81-run win against the Netherlands, showcasing their strength in the tournament. Following that, they secured another notable victory, defeating Sri Lanka by six wickets, further fueling their hopes of making a strong impact in the ongoing tournament.

However, their encounter against arch-rivals India saw them on the losing side, succumbing to a seven-wicket defeat. Pakistan’s upcoming clash is against the five-time World Champions, Australia, at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on October 20. The encounter promises to be pivotal for Pakistan as they strive to solidify their position in the competition and set their sights on World Cup glory.
