S. Sreesanth, the former cricketer of India, has shared his thoughts on the fiery celebration done by South African batter Heinrich Klaasen towards England‘s pace bowler Mark Wood during a crucial game between both teams at the ICC Men’s Cricket ODI World Cup 2023.

Batting at the No. 5 position, Klaasen played a sensational innings, scoring 109 runs off just 67 balls, including 12 boundaries and 4 massive sixes. His explosive performance played a pivotal role in South Africa amassing a formidable 399/7.
The defining moment arrived in the 47th over when Klaasen achieved his coveted century. His animated and exuberant celebration, including a resounding roar directed at England’s Wood, became the talking point of the fixture. Nevertheless, Klaasen, who grappled with cramps throughout his explosive innings, later extended an apology to Wood.

“Heinrich Klaasen’s animated celebration is quite understandable. I feel milestones like hundreds and five-wicket hauls are important. Emotions are bound to come out when you reach these milestones,” Sreesanth was quoted as saying by Sportskeeda.

He further expressed his admiration for Klaasen’s willingness to acknowledge his actions and extend an apology.
“We all understand that because he played a brilliant knock under very challenging circumstances. A big salute to Klaasen for his knock, and a double salute for the apology. South Africans are not arrogant; they are very good people,” the 40-year-old concluded.
