The 11th match of the ODI World Cup 2023 is currently taking place between New Zealand and Bangladesh at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. The match witnessed the return of New Zealand’s regular skipper, Kane Williamson, adding to the anticipation of the contest.

Winning the toss, New Zealand opted to bowl first and Williamson’s decision to field proved to be effective as New Zealand managed to restrict Bangladesh to a total of 245/9 within their allocated 50 overs. The decision to put the Tigers in to bat was underpinned by strong bowling performances by the Kiwi pacers.

Matt Henry’s deceptive off-cutter shatters Mushfiqur Rahim’s stumps

In a challenging batting situation, Mushfiqur Rahim stood out as the lone warrior for Bangladesh. He was the only batsman who managed to surpass the 50-run mark, contributing a valuable 66 runs from 75 deliveries.

However, Matt Henry ruined the hopes of Bangladeshi fans by dismissing Mushfiqur with a beauty. He produced a game-changing moment during the 36th over of Bangladesh’s innings. With an artful off-cutter, Henry deceived Mushfiqur, causing the ball to stay unusually low. The wicketkeeper-batter, who was preparing to play a pull shot, missed the delivery completely. He was left sprawled on the ground as the ball pierced the gap and dismantled the stumps.
