Here are the four players MI might release ahead of IPL 2024 auctions:
1) Jofra Archer
Known for his exceptional pace and raw talent, Jofra Archer has been a formidable force for the Mumbai. However, the English speedster’s persistent injury concerns and absence in the last season of IPL may prompt the franchise to explore other options. With Jasprit Bumrah‘s return and Akash Madhwal‘s emergence as another proficient Indian yorker specialist, Mumbai might opt to release Archer and seek another promising specialist to bolster their pace attack.
2) Ramandeep Singh
The middle-order conundrum has been a point of concern for Mumbai, and Ramandeep Singh, despite his potential, might face the axe. Mumbai could drop Ramandeep, who did not featured in any of the matches for his side in IPL 2023, to make room for another promising player who can fortify the middle order, with the focus on adding depth and stability to the batting lineup.
3) Riley Meredith
Mumbai might also part ways with Australian pacer Riley Meredith who replaced injured Jhye Richardson last season. Despite showcasing moments of brilliance, Meredith’s consistency may have become a concern for the franchise. Considering his below par performance in IPL 2023, in which the right-arm pacer bagged just seven wickets in five games and with an expensive economy of 10.53, Mumbai could be inclined to free him up and clear space for another bowler who aligns more closely with the team’s strategic needs.

4) Shams Mulani
Shams Mulani, the bowling all-rounder who made a noteworthy journey from net-bowler ranks to Mumbai’s squad, might find himself on the release list. Shams has yet to make his IPL debut and on the contrary, Mumbai might be keen on securing the services of another player who brings a fresh dynamic to the team, be it in terms of spin bowling or contributing with the bat in the lower order.
