As Team India continue their dominant run in the ODI World Cup 2023, winning all seven of their matches and securing a spot in the semi-finals, they have been hit with an unfortunate blow. All-rounder Hardik Pandya, who played a pivotal role in India’s campaign, has been ruled out of the competition. Hardik sustained a left ankle injury while bowling during India’s match against Bangladesh in Pune last month.

A setback for Team India

Hardik’s absence is a significant setback for the Men in Blue, who have been showcasing their prowess in the tournament. With Hardik’s dynamic all-round abilities, he added depth to the squad and was considered a key asset. His injury leaves a void that the team will need to address as they prepare for the upcoming crucial matches in the World Cup.

Hardik Pandya shares a heartwarming message

In response to his unfortunate exit from the ODI World Cup, Hardik took to social media to express his emotions and extend his support to the Indian cricket team. He shared his heartfelt message on his social media platform, X (formerly known as Twitter), stating he will keep on cheering for his team.

“Tough to digest the fact that I will miss out on the remaining part of the World Cup. I’ll be with the team, in spirit, cheering them on every ball of every game. Thanks for all the wishes, the love, and the support has been incredible. This team is special and I’m sure we’ll make everyone proud. Love, always, HP,” Hardik wrote on X.

Prasidh Krishna as Hardik’s replacement

In light of Hardik’s unavailability, the team management has swiftly acted to select a replacement. Prasidh Krishna, a talented pace bowler with 17 ODIs and two T20I matches for India under his belt, has been chosen as the replacement. Krishna’s inclusion aims to bolster the Indian squad and maintain their winning momentum.
