In a recent announcement, the Junior Cricket Committee of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) have unveiled India’s 15-member squad set to compete in the upcoming ACC Men’s U19 Asia Cup 2023 in the United Arab Emirates. Notably, India, the defending champion, will enter the forthcoming tournament as the most successful team in the competition, having secured the prestigious trophy on eight occasions.

Captain and vice captain

The leadership mantle for the forthcoming competition has been bestowed upon Uday Saharan and Saumy Kumar Pandey, who will serve as the captain and vice-captain, respectively. Tasked with guiding the talented young squad, Saharan and Pandey bring their skills and leadership acumen to the forefront as India seeks to defend its championship title.

Standby and reserve players

The standby players include Prem Devkar, Ansh Gosai, and Md. Amaan, stand ready to step in if the need arises. Additionally, the reserve players Digvijay Patil, Jayanth Goyat, P Vignesh, and Kiran Chormale bring a wealth of talent and serve as a robust contingency, underscoring the team’s commitment to preparedness for the cricketing affair.

The contest will feature the participation of the five full members of the Asian Cricket Council – Afghanistan, Bangladesh, India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. The top three ranked teams from the 2023 ACC Men’s Under-19 Premier Cup, i.e. Nepal, UAE and Japan, will join them. This gathering of cricketing talent promises a thrilling showcase of skill and competition on the vibrant stage of youth cricket in the Asian continent.
