“I think, ideally it should be Rutu (Ruturaj Gaikwad). But let’s see,” Rayudu said on the podcast
Rayudu highlighted Gaikwad’s exceptional leadership qualities, making a case for him to take over the captaincy reins for CSK. Gaikwad, who made his IPL debut in 2020, emerged as the Orange Cap winner in 2021, contributing significantly to CSK’s title triumphs in 2021 and 2023.

With a total of 52 IPL matches under his belt, Gaikwad has amassed 1797 runs at an impressive average of 39.07.
