Franchises release some renowned players
Prominent figures in the release list included Ben Stokes and Joe Root, who opted out of IPL 2024 citing workload management. Additionally, Harry Brook, who commanded a hefty INR 13.25 crore price tag last year from Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), was released by the 2016 champions.
Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) decided not to retain Bangladesh legend Shakib Al Hasan and New Zealand pacer Lockie Ferguson, while Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) released key players like Wanindu Hasaranga and Josh Hazlewood.
