Dhoni’s hilarious outsmarting of Bangladesh
During a recent interview, Dhoni recounted a memorable incident from his career when he used his knowledge of the Bengali language to outfox the Bangladesh cricket team. He started by revealing his familiarity with Bengali, which came from his early days working as a Ticket Collector at the Kharagpur railway station. The veteran cricketer then added how it helped him during a match in Bangladesh where the opposition wicketkeeper was instructing the bowler in Bengali, unaware that Dhoni could understand the language.
“If someone speaks Bengali around me, I can easily figure out what they are saying. Interestingly, once we were playing a match in Bangladesh, and I was batting. They didn’t know that I understood Bengali. So, the keeper was shouting and instructing the bowler, but I already knew what he was going to bowl. Later, when the match ended, and they were talking, their reaction was ‘E To Bangla Bujhtе Paarе’ (He understands Bengali!),” reminisced Dhoni.

“I just had knee surgery. If everything goes right, you’ll see me playing the IPL one year at a time. If not, I’ll watch the matches with the fans,” shared former India captain.
