After registering a whopping 302-run victory against Sri Lanka in Match 33 of ODI World Cup 2023 at the Wankhede Stadium on Thursday, India have succesfully secured their birth in the semi-final stage of the tournament.

What lies ahead is the Men in Blue’s clash against the Proteas, who stand at the second position in the points table, just behind the Rohit Sharma-led side. The cricketing world is abuzz with excitement as two cricketing powerhouses will lock horns in Kolkata on Sunday.

Ahead of the clash, former Indian cricketer Pragyan Ojha has expressed his excitement to see how a notable South African batter, in particular, will face the formidable Indian bowling attack.

Pragyan Ojha’s anticipation-building tweet

Following India’s stellar victory over Sri Lanka, Ojha praised pacer Mohammed Shami, who bagged his second five-wicket haul in the ongoing edition of the World Cup. The 37-year-old further expressed his excitement for the 2011 ODI World Cup champions’ forthcoming encounter against South Africa, adding that he is excited to see how the Temba Bavuma led-side’s batters, especially Heinrich Klaasen, will perform against the Indian bolwers on the spin-friendly track of the Eden Gardens.

It is worth noting that Klaasen has played a pivotal role in his team’s campaign so far, amassing 315 runs in seven innings with a classy average of 52.50.
