India’s captain, Rohit Sharma, and experienced star batter, Virat Kohli, returned to Mumbai on Monday (November 20), after conclusion of their team’s ODI World Cup  2023 campaign.

A mix of emotions after the loss against Australia

Despite an impressive ten-match winning streak and an unbeaten run, the Men in Blue failed to cross the last hurdle and faced a heartbreaking defeat in the final against Pat Cummins-led Australia, losing by six wickets. The post-match scenes portrayed the emotional toll, with Rohit, and even the composed Kohli displaying visible distress.

In the two separate videos going viral, while the skipper carried his daughter Samaira towards his car,  Kohli and his wife Anushka Sharma headed towards their car.

Top performers for Team India: Kohli and Rohit

Kohli, the tournament’s highest run-scorer with 765 runs at an average of 95.62, claimed three centuries and six fifties, earning him the Player of the Tournament award. Meanwhile, Rohit contributed significantly with 597 runs at an average of 54.27, featuring one century and three half-centuries. As the players reunite with their loved ones, the return marks the end of a challenging yet memorable 45-day-long tournament.
