Melbourne Stars Innings:
Meg Lanning led the charge for the Stars with a brilliant innings, scoring 67 runs off 49 balls, including 6 fours and 1 six. Contributions from Alice Capsey and Annabel Sutherland propelled the Stars to a competitive total of 144/5 in their 20 overs.
For Melbourne Renegades, Sarah Coyte shone with the ball, claiming 2 wickets for 32 runs in her 4 overs.
Melbourne Renegades Innings:
In response, the Renegades fought hard, but fell just short of the target. Harmanpreet Kaur‘s resilient knock of 37 runs off 39 balls and Tammy Beaumont’s 33 runs off 31 balls kept the chase alive.
However, Annabel Sutherland’s exceptional bowling performance, taking 4 wickets for 22 runs, proved decisive. Kim Garth and Sophie Day also made impactful contributions, taking 1 wicket each.
