In the Wednesday’s double header in Women’s Big Bash League (WBBL) 2023, Melbourne Stars Women faced off Sydney Sixers Women in the first game while Adelaide Strikers Women took on Melbourne Renegades Women in the second clash.

Melbourne Stars Women locked horns with Sydney Sixers Women in a thrilling encounter where the Sixers emerged victorious. The Sixers posted a total of 134/7 in their allotted 20 overs. Ellyse Perry was the top scorer for the Sixers, contributing 22 runs off 15 balls with four boundaries.

Other notable performances included Maitlan Brown (19 runs off 24 balls), Ashleigh Gardner (15 runs off 23 balls), and Suzie Bates (27 runs off 19 balls). Sophie Day was the star bowler for Melbourne Stars, picking up an impressive 5 wickets while conceding 25 runs.

In response, Melbourne Stars Women struggled to find their footing and managed to score only 51/6 in just 7 overs. Alice Capsey provided a glimmer of hope with a brisk 21 runs off 14 balls, including five boundaries. Chloe Tryon was the standout bowler for Sydney Sixers, taking 3 wickets for just 2 runs. Adelaide Strikers Women emerged victorious in a thrilling encounter against Melbourne Renegades Women in Match 29 of the WBBL 2023, held at Karen Rolton Oval. In the first innings, Melbourne Renegades Women managed to post a competitive total of 148/5 in their allotted 20 overs. Tammy Beaumont led the charge with 26 runs off 26 deliveries, including three fours. However, the early departure of Hayley Matthews (0) and Courtney Webb (11) put some pressure on the Renegades.

The star of their innings was Harmanpreet Kaur, who notched up an impressive 45 runs off 38 balls, featuring six fours. Jess Duffin played a crucial role with a quickfire 54 off 38 balls, including five fours and three sixes. In the bowling department, Adelaide Strikers Women received notable contributions from Danielle Gibson (1 wicket for 28 runs), Megan Schutt (1 wicket for 34 runs), Anesu Mushangwe (1 wicket for 18 runs), and Amanda Wellington (1 wicket for 25 runs).

In response, Adelaide Strikers Women successfully chased down the target, reaching 149/4 in 19 overs. Katie Mack got the innings off to a flying start, scoring 24 runs off 15 balls, with five boundaries.
