In a thrilling encounter at the Women’s Big Bash League (WBBL) 2023, Sydney Thunder registered a victory against Brisbane Heat at the North Sydney Oval. Brisbane Heat won the toss and elected to bowl first.

Sydney Thunder Women put up a strong total of 204 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in their 20 overs. Tahlia Wilson and Chamari Athapaththu led the charge with blistering performances, scoring 83 and 58 runs respectively. Heather Knight also made a notable contribution with 38 runs.

For Brisbane Heat, Nicola Hancock and Courtney Sippel picked up two wickets each.

Chasing a formidable target, Brisbane Heat fought valiantly and managed to score 196 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in their 20 overs. Fast bowler Hannah Darlington claimed two wickets.
