Among the notable additions to their squad were the seasoned Indian pacer Harshal Patel, who commanded a hefty sum of INR 11.75 crores, power-hitter Rilee Rossouw, acquired for a substantial INR 8 crores, and the versatile cricketer Chris Woakes, who fetched a significant sum of INR 4.8 crores.

De Villiers names the overpaid cricketer

De Villiers expressed his opinion that all-rounder Sam Curran has been quite overpaid . He acknowledged that while Curran is not a bad player, he hasn’t performed exceptionally well in the last IPL season and for his national side (England).

“I don’t like to be controversial. But, in my opinion, he’s been overpaid for quite a few years now. He’s not a bad player; I like him. He’s had a fantastic World Cup, but that’s quite a few years back. I don’t think he’s had a very good IPL recently. Also, for England, he hasn’t played exceptionally well,” De Villiers said during a Q&A session on his YouTube channel.
