The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 auction reached a historic conclusion in Dubai on Friday, where ten teams collectively secured the services of 72 players.

In a groundbreaking moment, Australian paceman Mitchell Starc made IPL auction history by becoming the costliest purchase, fetching a staggering INR 24.75 crore from the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). Joining the league of high earners was Starc’s Australian captain, Pat Cummins, who secured a significant deal with the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), amounting to INR 20.5 crore.

Conversely, a notable roster of players faced an uneventful auction, with several prominent names, including Phil Salt, Josh Hazlewood, Kyle Jamieson, Odean Smith and Steve Smith, going unsold.
