In the Indian players’ category, Harshal Patel emerged as the highest earner, joining Punjab Kings (PBKS) for INR 11.75 crore. Uncapped talent Sameer Rizvi secured an impressive INR 8.40 crore deal with Chennai Super Kings (CSK), and Shahrukh Khan became Gujarat Titans’ (GT) prized acquisition at INR 7.40 crore.

Gujarat Titans, tasked with filling the void left by Hardik Pandya’s departure to Mumbai Indians (MI), strategically added key players to their roster. Former India cricketer Parthiv Patel commended the franchise’s decision to invest in Shahrukh Khan, calling him the ‘best buy’ for the 2022 IPL champions.

“The biggest gap they had to fill was the one left by Hardik Pandya. I feel they have shown faith in Shahrukh Khan there. He can bat both ways at No. 5 or No. 6. He is an experienced player. I feel Shahrukh Khan was their best buy,” Patel remarked during an interview on Jio Cinema.
