In a significant development ahead of the upcoming One-Day International (ODI) series against Bangladesh, New Zealand Cricket (NZC) have announced their squad, introducing three promising players who are yet to make their debut for the national team.

3 new faces in New Zealand’s ODI squad

The fresh faces in the squad – Josh Clarkson (all-rounder), Adi Ashok (leg-spinner) and Will O’Rourke (fast bowler) – have added an element of excitement and anticipation as New Zealand prepares to take on Bangladesh in the 50-overs format. The three players receiving their maiden call-ups have been identified for their outstanding performances in domestic cricket, and their inclusion is a testament to their talent and potential.

“Josh [Clarkson] is someone who, while still only young, has played over 150 matches for the Stags, developing his skills with bat and ball to become a consistent contributor,” Blackcaps selector Sam Wells was quoted as saying in his official statement.

“Adi and Will are both still fresh to domestic cricket but have been impressive in their early efforts and stepped up well this year in the New Zealand A matches against Australia A.

“Both offer valuable skill-sets, Adi with impressive control as a young leg spinner, and Will with natural bounce and variation as a tall pace bowler,” added Wells.
