In a much-anticipated move, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has officially announced the 15-member squad for the upcoming ACC U19 Asia Cup 2023, scheduled to be held in Dubai from December 8 to 17. Led by Saad Baig, the team is set to compete against seven other nations in this highly prestigious tournament.

Leadership continuity

Baig, who successfully captained the Pakistan U19 team during the recent home series against Sri Lanka and the Bangladesh tour, will continue to lead the side in the U19 Asia Cup. Arafat Minhas has been appointed as the vice-captain, solidifying the team’s leadership structure.

Group placement and fixture

Pakistan U19 find themselves placed in Group A, alongside Afghanistan U19, India U19, and Nepal U19. The team’s journey in the tournament kicks off with a clash against Nepal on December 8, followed by crucial encounters against India on December 10 and Afghanistan on December 12.

The squad, carefully selected by the junior selection committee under the guidance of Sohail Tanvir, boasts a mix of seasoned players and promising talents.

“Saad Baig will continue to lead Pakistan U19 in the ACC U19 Asia Cup 2023 set to take place in Dubai. The junior selection committee, headed by Sohail Tanvir, has finalised the 15-member squad for the eight-team tournament scheduled from 8 to 17 December,” said PCB in a statement.
