Bangladesh registered a resounding 9-wicket victory over New Zealand in the third and final ODI of the series at Napier’s McLean Park on Saturday. This was the first ODI win for Bangla Tigers against the Blackcaps in New Zealand.

New Zealand’s batting struggled against a disciplined Bangladeshi bowling attack, managing to post only 98 runs in 31.4 overs. Will Young top-scored with 26 runs, but the team faced challenges against Shoriful Islam (3/22), Tanzim Hasan Sakib (3/14) and Saumya Sarkar (3/18) who restricted the home side for a paltry total.

Bangladesh Innings: 99/1 (15.1 Ovs)

Chasing 99 for victory, Bangladesh showcased batting dominance as they chased the set target in just 15.1 overs. Najmul Hossain Shanto (51 not out) led the charge with crucial support from Anamul Haque (37). The Bangladeshi batsmen exhibited confidence and control, easily navigating New Zealand’s bowling attack.

Tanzim Hasan Sakib’s exceptional bowling performance earned him the Player of the Match award, highlighting his role in dismantling New Zealand for a low total.
