Batting first, West Indies openers faced early setbacks as both Brandon King and Kyle Mayers departed cheaply. However, the team found its stride when Nicholas Pooran and Shai Hope took charge, counter-attacking the bowlers with determination. Subsequently, Salt found a formidable partner in the hard-hitting Liam Livingstone, as they forged a partnership that yielded 70 runs, with Livingstone contributing 30 runs, including three towering sixes. In a stellar performance, Salt achieved his maiden international T20 century, remaining unbeaten with a remarkable 109 runs off 56 balls. The late-innings heroics of Harry Brook, who played a cameo of 31 runs off just seven balls, ensured guests reached the target with a ball to spare, sealing a memorable victory.
