The duo showcased the innovative stumps in a video released on the official social media account of the BBL, providing fans with a sneak peek into the future of cricketing technology.

The dynamic display of Electra stumps

Unlike the traditional ‘zing bails’ that light up only upon contact, the Electra Stumps bring a dynamic visual spectacle to the cricket field. The stumps will showcase different colors and patterns based on specific events during the match, offering fans a vibrant and immersive experience.

Understanding the concept

Australian cricketer-turned-commentator Waugh explained the intricate workings of the Electra Stumps in the unveiling video. The colors of the stumps will signify various outcomes:

  • At Dismissal: Stumps will flash red and then fire color.
  • Fours: All colors will flash.
  • Sixes: All colors will scroll upwards.
  • No-Ball: Red and white lights will scroll.
  • Between Overs: A pulse between purple and blue colors will scroll.
