The excitement is palpable as the player’s auction for the second edition of the TATA Women’s Premier League (WPL) is just around the corner. Cricket enthusiasts and fans are all geared up for the much-anticipated bidding event, where some of the finest international and national talents will be up for grabs.
It is worth mentioning that 165 cricketers are set to go under the hammer during the WPL 2024 Players’ Auction scheduled on December 9, 2023, in Mumbai. Out of the 165 players, 104 are Indians, and 61 are overseas players, including 15 from associate nations.
The diversity in the player pool promises an exciting blend of skills and talent that will undoubtedly elevate the competition in the upcoming women’s cricket league. Among the players, 56 are capped, and 109 are uncapped, adding an element of unpredictability to the auction dynamics.

The upcoming auction will see five teams—Delhi Capitals, Gujarat Giants, Mumbai Indians, Royal Challengers Bangalore, and UP Warriorz—bring unique strategies and team compositions to the table. Each team has a maximum of 30 slots to fill, including 9 spots reserved for overseas players.
