In a heartfelt farewell after his last game at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG), David Warner extended gratitude to his wife Candice and other family members for their unwavering support throughout his illustrious cricketing career.

The veteran Australia cricketer, known for his explosive batting and dynamic fielding, bid adieu to Test cricket with a poignant speech, expressing his appreciation for the backing he received from his loved ones. Warner acknowledged the sacrifices made by his parents, wife Candice and other members of the family, recognizing their role in his cricketing journey.
“Massive part of your life and without their support you can’t do what you do. I owe credit to my parents for giving me a beautiful and great upbringing. My brother Steve, I followed in his footsteps,” Warner stated emotionally after Australia’s third and final Test of the series against Pakistan.
“And then Candice came along and sort of got me in line. We’ve had a beautiful family and I cherish every moment I get with them. I love them to death, and I’m not going to keep carrying on because I’ll get too emotional. But thank you, Candice, for what you’ve done. You mean the world to me, and I appreciate it,” Warner added.

Warner’s remarkable Test career
The left-handed opener scored a spirited 57 in his last Test innings, guiding Australia to a successful run-chase of 130 in their fourth essay. Despite falling short of carrying his bat in the innings, Warner’s knock helped Australia clean sweep Pakistan (3-0) in the three-match rubber.
Warner concluded his remarkable Test career, comprising 112 matches, during which he accumulated 8,786 runs at an average of 44.60. This phenomenal journey featured 26 centuries, 37 half-centuries and a best score of 335 not out.
