India are all set to host Afghanistan for the three-match T20I series, scheduled to begin on January 11 in Mohali. Recently, BCCI announced India’s squad, which witnessed the return of star senior players Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. Notably, both Rohit and Kohli last played a T20I game against England at during the 2022 T20 World Cup semi-final in Australia.

The battle against Afghanistan is crucial as its India’s final T20I series before the forthcoming T20 World Cup 2024, slated to be played in the USA and West Indies in June. No wonder, BCCI opted to pick a full-strength squad for this series.

Although, the likes of Suryakumar Yadav and Hardik Pandya were not picked for the battle against the Afghans as the duo was ruled out due to their respective injuries.
