Speaking to Sky Sports, Hussain made it clear that, in his opinion, India holds the upper hand due to the advantage of playing on home turf. However, he also acknowledged the formidable challenge that England poses, especially with their recent success and a distinct “bazball” approach to the game.
Nasser even highlighted England’s resilience and the successful performances of key players like Ben Stokes and Brendon McCullum, emphasizing that the English team’s unique style of play could make them formidable opponents.
“India are the favourites, but every single challenge Bazball has faced they’ve stuck to their guns and Ben Stokes and Brendon McCullum’s record is seriously good, I wouldn’t write them off,” said Hussain.
“Bazball has been very successful especially at home and the two toughest places to tour are India or Australia. It’s going to be a massive challenge for England,” he added.
Nasser further elaborated on how this innovative approach is poised to capture the attention of cricket enthusiasts and praised the Indian cricket team in the process.
“India want to see how this new approach will work at home. It will be fascinating cricket and will be interesting to see how this particular side will go against what is one of the great cricketing outfits at the moment, which is the India side,” the former England skipper concluded.
