In a low-scoring encounter at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium, Afghanistan registered a 4-wicket victory victory against the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in the third and final T20I of Afghanistan’s tour to the UAE. The win handed Afghanistan a series triumph, marking a compelling conclusion to the T20I leg.

Afghanistan restricted UAE for 126

The UAE won the toss and elected to bat, posting a total of 126/9 in their allotted 20 overs. Skipper Muhammad Waseem top-scored with 27 runs, while Naveen-ul-Haq starred for Afghanistan with an impressive four-wicket haul. Leg-spinner Qais Ahmad and all-rounder Azmatullah Omarzai also picked up 3 and 2 wickets, respectively.

Chasing the target, Afghanistan encountered some tense moments but managed to achieve victory with 15 balls to spare, finishing at 128/6 in 18.3 overs. Hazratullah Zazai‘s 32-ball 36 and Najibullah Zadran‘s quick-fire 28 not out played pivotal roles in the Afghan run chase.

For the UAE, Junaid Siddique contributed with the ball, picking up two crucial wickets, but Afghanistan’s middle-order resilience ultimately secured the win.

Naveen-ul-Haq was named the Player of the Match for his impactful four-wicket haul during the UAE innings.

The Afghanistan tour of the UAE T20I series proved to be an enthralling contest, with Afghanistan emerging victorious in the final match.
