Despite Hales’ efforts, the Scorchers’ bowlers, spearheaded by Ashton Agar, managed to keep a tight leash on the scoring. Agar showcased his skill by taking 2 crucial wickets while conceding a mere 6 runs in his 4 overs. Cooper Connolly also played a significant role, claiming 3 wickets to restrict the Thunder to a modest total.

In response, the Perth Scorchers chased down the target with ease, finishing at 140/3 in 19.1 overs and securing a seven-wicket victory. Zak Crawley played a crucial innings, scoring 58 runs off 56 balls, supported by contributions from Josh Inglis and Aaron Hardie.

Nathan McAndrew was the most successful bowler for the Sydney Thunder, picking up 2 wickets for 27 runs in his 4 overs. The result also saw the Perth Scorchers further solidifying their second position in the BBL standings.
