In their final group game of the U19 World Cup 2024 at Bloemfontein, India registered a comfortable 201-run victory over the USA.

Arshin Kulkarni showcased an impressive century, while pacer Naman Tiwari claimed four wickets, maintaining India’s unbeaten streak in the tournament. Heading to the Super Six stage as toppers of Group A, India had already sealed their berth with two previous wins.

India batting

Opting to bat after winning the toss, India posted a commanding total of 326 for five, with Arshin’s brilliant century (108) and Musheer Khan‘s supporting knock (73) at number three.

In the Indian innings, Arshin’s century, featuring eight fours and three sixes, was the highlight, supported by Musheer’s vital partnership. Despite some wickets falling towards the end, cameos by Sachin Dhas, Priyanshu Moliya and Aravelly Avanish propelled India past the 300-run mark. Musheer’s dismissal by Rishi Ramesh brought USA back into the contest, but late efforts by Indian batsmen secured a formidable total.

India’s bowling

The Indian bowlers, led by left-arm pacer Tiwari (4/20), complemented the batting performance by restricting USA to a modest 125 for 8 in 50 overs.
