Muhammad Waseem, Kusal Perera shine in MI Emirates’ chase
The Nicholas Pooran-led MI Emirates ended up chasing the massive total with 8 wickets in hand and one over to spare. Openers Muhammad Waseem and Kusal Perera were the chief architects of the successful chase. The duo formed a scintillating partnership of 110 and took the game away from Abu Dhabi Knight Riders.
While Perera smashed a brilliant knock of 56 from 27 deliveries with the help of 4 fours and 3 sixes, Waseem top-scored with unbeaten 87 from just 61 balls, including 8 fours and 3 maximums. Captain Pooran also chipped in with crucial 33 as MI Emirates completed the proceedings in the 19th over.
