Starting the day with an overnight score of 179, Yashasvi wasted no time in reaching his maiden double century. In the 102nd over of India’s innings, he unleashed a barrage of boundaries against debutant Shoaib Bashir, culminating in a powerful six that marked his achievement of the monumental milestone.

Record-breaking feat

Yashasvi’s double century not only showcased his immense talent but also secured his place in the annals of Indian cricket history. At the age of 22 years and 36 days, he became the third youngest Indian to achieve this feat in Test cricket, following in the footsteps of legends like Vinod Kambli and Sunil Gavaskar.
