Cricket South Africa (CSA) has revealed the highly anticipated Women’s squad for the upcoming one-off Test against Australia. The solitary Test is scheduled to commence on February 15 at the iconic WACA ground in Perth.
Chloe Tryon makes her comeback
Six promising players have received their maiden call-ups for the red-ball encounter. Tazmin Brits, Masabata Klaas, Ayanda Hlubi, Eliz-Mari Marx, Delmi Tucker, and Mieke de Ridder are set to make their Test debut, injecting fresh energy into the South African team.
In a significant return, Chloe Tryon has also been included in the squad, marking her comeback to Test cricket after her last appearance against England in Taunton back in June 2022.
Continuity in leadership
Laura Wolvaardt, the dynamic batter, will continue to lead the South African side in the one-off Test against Australia. The remainder of the squad consists of familiar faces who showcased their skills against England in the previous series.

Expressing his enthusiasm, head coach Hilton Moreeng highlighted the significance of the upcoming Test match. He emphasized the excitement within the team, especially among the younger players, to challenge themselves in the longer format of the game. With meticulous preparation and the opportunity to play at the historic WACA stadium, Moreeng believes it’s an exciting time for women’s cricket in South Africa.
“It’s a great opportunity for us as a team. It’s [a Test] another one in a while again, so I think especially with the youngsters, they’re very excited to challenge themselves and to test their skills in the longer format and in women’s cricket, it hasn’t been something we’ve been familiar with. We’ve had an opportunity to prepare for it and playing in an iconic stadium, it’s an opportunity that every youngster wants to grab and test their skills against, so it’s exciting times for women’s cricket and one we’re looking forward to as a team,” said head coach Moreeng in a statement.
