In a noteworthy development, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has taken a decisive step by opting to terminate cricketer Haris Rauf‘s name from the central contract list. This stringent action reflects the board’s commitment to maintaining discipline and upholding professional conduct standards within their cricketing realm.

In a further measure, the PCB has also declared that no NOC (No objection certificate) will be granted to the seamer for participation in any foreign league until June 30, 2024. This decision underscores the gravity of the situation and sends a clear message about the board’s dedication to ensuring accountability and adherence to regulations by its players.

Reason behind Haris Rauf’s contract termination

Rauf has faced disciplinary action after an investigation into his refusal to join Pakistan’s Test squad for the 2023-24 tour of Australia. Following an exhaustive hearing process led by a dedicated PCB committee and taking into account the perspectives of all relevant stakeholders, the PCB has decided to implement this measure.

The board afforded Rauf an opportunity for a personal hearing on January 30, 2024, in adherence to the principles of natural justice. However, his response during the hearing was deemed unsatisfactory, leading to the subsequent decision by the PCB to take punitive step.
