The second day of the Vizag Test between India and England provided cricket fans with a blend of excitement and controversy as Indian skipper Rohit Sharma was caught on camera venting his frustration with explicit language towards his teammates during a break in play.

The day saw India’s young opener Yashasvi Jaiswal make history with his maiden double century, anchoring India’s innings with a stellar 209 runs. However, amidst this cricketing milestone, a video emerged on social media capturing a heated moment involving Rohit during a break in play.

The incident

The incident, believed to have occurred during the break between overs after the 31st over bowled by Kuldeep Yadav, captured Rohit expressing his frustration with explicit language directed at his teammates. In the video, Rohit can be heard admonishing his teammates, urging them not to “walk around the garden” followed by the use of cuss words.

Yashasvi Jaiswal takes India to a decent total

Speaking about the day’s proceedings, India were bundled out for 396 following the double hundred of Yashasvi. The left-handed opener, who began his overnight score of 179 in the morning session, ended up scoring 209.

Jasprit Bumrah wreaks havoc on England

England’s opening batters commenced their innings in familiar fashion, with Ben Duckett and Zak Crawley making significant strides against the Indian bowling attack. The pair formed a formidable partnership, accumulating 59 runs before Kuldeep Yadav broke through by dismissing Duckett for 21.

Crawley continued his impressive batting display, notching up a half-century. He combined effectively with Pope, adding 55 runs to the scoreboard before Axar Patel dismissed Crawley after his commendable knock of 76.

Jasprit Bumrah then delivered a sensational spell, claiming three wickets in rapid succession. He first sent back the seasoned Joe Root for 5 runs, followed by a mesmerizing delivery that dismissed Ollie Pope (23). The right-arm bowler continued his stellar performance by removing Jonny Bairstow for 25 runs.
