In a dramatic turn of events during the International League T20 (ILT20) match between Desert Vipers and MI Emirates, Wanindu Hasaranga and Waqar Salamkheil found themselves embroiled in a heated exchange at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium.

Heated argument between Wanindu Hasaranga and Waqar Salamkheil

The incident unfolded in the seventh over of the Vipers’ innings when Salamkheil, stepping in to bowl the first over after the powerplay, managed to dismiss Hasaranga caught behind on the final ball of his over. Salamkheil’s jubilant celebration following the wicket irked Hasaranga, who appeared visibly disappointed after losing his wicket.

Hasaranga’s Desert Vipers lost the match by 30 runs

Following Hasaranga’s departure, the Vipers found themselves in dire straits at 45/6 while chasing a formidable total of 189 runs. The Emirates may have anticipated a swift conclusion to the match, but they were compelled to endure the entire 20 overs to secure victory.

All-rounder Ali Naseer rose to the occasion after the Vipers stumbled to 82/7 following Shane Rutherford‘s dismissal, playing a magnificent knock of 63 not out from just 47 deliveries, guiding his team beyond the 150-run mark.

Despite Naseer’s remarkable performance, the Vipers’ efforts were ultimately in vain as they were restricted to 155/8 by the Emirates, falling short by 30 runs of their target.
