Multan Sultans reaches the final of PSL 2024

Multan Sultans continued their dominance in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2024 by securing a comfortable seven-wicket victory over Peshawar Zalmi in Thursday’s Qualifier clash at the National Stadium in Karachi. This win marks their fourth consecutive appearance in the PSL final.

Peshawar Zalmi Innings

Despite a slow pitch, the Sultans’ bowlers restricted Zalmi to a modest 146 runs. The Peshawar side, who chose to bat first, struggled to find momentum, particularly after the crucial wicket of Babar Azam (46) in the 13th over. Credit goes to Multan’s spin duo of Iftikhar Ahmed and Usama Mir, who effectively choked the run flow during the middle overs.

Multan Sultan Innings

Chasing a relatively small target, the Sultans’ batting lineup displayed remarkable composure. Opener Yasir Khan led the charge with a blistering 54 off just 32 balls, effectively sealing the chase within the first ten overs. While skipper Mohammad Rizwan played a cautious role, the likes of Usman Khan (36 not out) and Iftikhar Ahmed (22 not out) ensured the innings didn’t falter, guiding the Sultans to victory with nine balls to spare.
