England pacer James Anderson shared his thoughts on his team’s Test series loss against Rohit Sharma‘s India. England began the series with a remarkable victory in Hyderabad, clinching the opening game under the leadership of Ben Stokes. However, they couldn’t maintain the momentum, suffering defeats in all the subsequent matches and ultimately succumbing to a 1-4 series loss.

Impactful social media post: James Anderson

Anderson, who recently joined the prestigious 700 Test wickets club, took to Instagram to reflect on his experience during the five-match Test series against Team India. Anderson acknowledged India’s superior performance and expressed gratitude for the team’s effort. He remained committed to improving and entertaining, thanking supporters at home and those who traveled, looking forward to the upcoming summer.

“A tough end to the series. India just too good this time. We gave it everything the last couple of months. Love being part of this test team and we’ll keep striving to improve and entertain. Thanks for all the support from back home and especially those who travelled. See you in the summer,” Anderson wrote.

Anderson’s contribution

Anderson played a crucial role for England with the ball. After missing the first Test, he was included in the playing XI for the remaining four matches. His notable performance came in the third Test in Vizag, where he secured figures of 3/47 and 2/29 in the first and second innings, respectively. Despite Anderson’s efforts, England fell short in the pursuit of 399 runs, losing the game by 106 runs.

Milestone in Dharamsala

The fifth Test in Dharamsala marked a historic moment for Anderson as he achieved his 700th Test wicket by dismissing Kuldeep Yadav. This milestone made him only the third bowler in Test cricket history to reach the 700-wicket mark. Notably, Anderson stands alone as the only pacemaker to achieve this remarkable feat in the red-ball format.
