India‘s young batting prodigy Sarfaraz Khan continued his impressive run in Test cricket, scoring a well-made 56 on Day 2 of the fifth and final Test against England at the HPCA Stadium, Dharamsala.
Sarfaraz bats with intent:
Responding to England’s modest first innings total of 218, India found themselves in a comfortable position at 279/3 when Sarfaraz walked in to bat. He displayed great intent from the outset, scoring freely and putting pressure on the English bowlers.
Partnership with Devdutt Padikkal flourishes:
Joining forces with fellow youngster Devdutt Padikkal, who was making his Test debut, Sarfaraz stitched together a crucial 97-run partnership. While the right-handed batter started cautiously, he soon shifted gears, finding the boundary with ease. His knock was laced with eight fours and a six, showcasing his aggressive batting style.
Celebration after completing his fifty:
After reaching his well-deserved fifty, Sarfaraz’s emotions ran high. He raised his bat in acknowledgment of the crowd before pointing it towards the dressing room in a heartfelt gesture. The cameras then captured him blowing a loving kiss towards his wife, Romana Zahoor, who was present at the stadium.
