In the electrifying encounter between Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and Punjab Kings (PBKS) at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024, LSG emerged victorious by 21 runs.

LSG Innings

Opting to bat first after winning the toss, LSG posted a formidable total of 199/8 in their allotted 20 overs. Quinton de Kock top-scored with a blistering 54 off 38 balls, well-supported by Nicholas Pooran’s explosive 42 off 21 deliveries and Krunal Pandya‘s aggressive 43 off 22 balls. For Punjab, Sam Curran led the bowling attack with figures of 3 wickets for 28 runs.

PBKS Innings

In response, PBKS fought hard but fell short, managing to score 178/5 in their 20 overs. Skipper Shikhar Dhawan played a brilliant knock of 70 runs in 50 deliveries, while Jonny Bairstow contributed 42 runs off 29 balls. However, the rest of the batting lineup couldn’t quite match the required run rate.
