In the 12th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024, Gujarat Titans (GT) clashed with Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The contest saw superior display of all-round cricket from the home side as they ended up claiming a comfortable win by 7 wickets.

Sunrisers Hyderabad won the toss and elected to bat first. Sunrisers Hyderabad started steadily but couldn’t capitalize on the platform, managing to score 162 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in their allotted 20 overs. However, the batting effort lacked consistency as no player managed to convert their starts into a big score.

On the bowling front, the Gujarat Titans bowlers put up a commendable effort to restrict the Sunrisers’ batting lineup. Mohit Sharma was the pick of the bowlers, claiming 3 wickets for 25 runs in his 4 overs, while Rashid Khan, Umesh Yadav, and Noor Ahmad chipped in with crucial breakthroughs.

Sai Sudharsan, David Miller take GT over the finish line

Chasing a target of 163 runs, Gujarat Titans showcased a clinical batting performance, reaching the target with 5 balls to spare and 7 wickets in hand. Sai Sudharsan and David Miller played a pivotal innings, scoring 45 and 44 runs, well supported by Wriddhiman Saha (25) and Shubman Gill (36), who chipped in with valuable runs.

The Sunrisers Hyderabad bowlers struggled to contain the Gujarat Titans’ batting lineup, with Mayank Markande, Pat Cummins, and Shahbaz Ahmed managing to pick up one wicket each.
