After an illustrious career spanning 15 years, Pakistan Women’s Cricket stalwart, Javeria Khan, has decided to retire from international cricket. With an impressive record behind her, Javeria leaves a lasting legacy in the sport.

Javeria Khan’s career highlights

Javeria, a prominent figure in Pakistan’s cricketing landscape, debuted in international cricket in 2008. Since then, she has amassed remarkable achievements, playing in 228 international matches and accumulating 4,903 runs. Her batting prowess includes two centuries and 25 half-centuries. Additionally, she contributed with the ball, claiming 28 international wickets.

Contributions to Pakistan Women’s cricket

Javeria’s impact on Pakistan Women’s Cricket extends beyond statistics. She played a crucial role in various tournaments, representing Pakistan in four 50-over World Cups and all eight editions of the T20 World Cup. Notably, she was part of the squads that clinched gold at the 2010 and 2014 Asian Games.

Leadership role

Displaying leadership qualities, Javeria captained Pakistan in both ODIs and T20Is. Under her guidance, the team participated in ICC Women’s T20 World Cups and showcased resilience on the field.

“I want to call it a day and announce my retirement, however, I will be available for league cricket. I am grateful to the unwavering support I received throughout my career. I want to thank my family, teammates, the Pakistan Cricket Board, my department ZTBL for their support and guidance at each step, and my fans whose appreciation was instrumental in bringing out the best in me. I have been blessed to hold Pakistan’s flag globally,” said Javeria in an official statement quoted by PCB.
