Dhoni’s late cameo sparked renewed debate about his batting position in the CSK line-up. Former Australian fast bowler Brett Lee weighed in on the issue, suggesting Dhoni bat higher in the order.
“He was on tonight, he was not rusty,” Lee said on Jio Cinema. “I do want more from him in terms of batting. Get yourself up in the order. He is outstanding, his brain is still nice and sharp, CSK please get MS Dhoni up in the order,” Lee emphasized.

Despite the loss, Dhoni’s performance garnered praise from fellow cricketers. Shane Watson, speaking on Jio Cinema, highlighted Dhoni’s ability to deliver whenever needed. “Whatever you want from Dhoni, he will give it to you,” said Watson, commending Dhoni’s shot selection.
