Bangladesh lost to their arch-rivals Sri Lanka by 2-0 in the home Test series. Sri Lanka embarrassed the hosts by giving them a whitewash and added salt to the wound by devising a unique way of receiving the trophy.
Sri Lanka won the series opener by 328 runs and the second Test by 192 runs. The series, which was already trending due to many humorous incidents, even concluded with a viral moment.
A practice series?
The post-match celebration of the Lankan Lions was a sight to behold. The entire Sri Lankan team donned their practice uniforms and marched forward to collect the trophy. In a surprising move, Sri Lanka captain Dhananjay De Silva calmly placed the trophy on the ground and proceeded to pose for a picture. The Lankan players, in stark contrast to the usual jubilation, refrained from celebrating or cheering as if they had just won a practice game instead of a crucial away Test series.
